Sermon Recap: Perservance & Steadfast Faith
Perseverance & Steadfast Faith
Yesterday was yet ANOTHER powerful Sunday in the house of the Lord and we are grateful to Him for it! From our time of worship to the dedication of baby Judah James Bradley, to the breaking of bread together in communion, God moved in a mighty way. We pray that this recap serves as a reminder of what the Lord deposited in your heart and that it continues to stir your faith throughout the week.
Summary
The sermon explored the call to perseverance and steadfast faith as rooted in the supremacy of Jesus Christ. Drawing from Colossians 1:15-23, Pastor reminded us that Christ is the visible image of the invisible God, the creator and sustainer of all things, and the one through whom we have been reconciled to the Father. Because of who Christ is, believers are called to remain grounded, settled, and unmoved, even when life creates pressure to quit. The sermon challenged us to examine what we truly believe about Christ, because what we believe about Him directly determines how firmly we stand when we are tested.
Takeaways
- Faith and perseverance work together. Faith tells us who to trust, and perseverance determines whether we will keep trusting God when the answer has not yet come. Faith begins the journey, but perseverance keeps us walking. As Pastor declared, "When your faith meets God where He is, that is when you receive the manifestation of the very thing you have been waiting on."
- God is holding all things together. Even when life feels like it is falling apart, Colossians 1:17 reminds us that Christ holds all creation together. The next time you feel overwhelmed, remind yourself that God has not let go. He did not bring you this far to leave you.
- What you believe about Christ shapes how you stand. The Colossian church was being influenced by false teachings that attempted to place other things on equal footing with Jesus. Pastor reminded us that no star, no philosophy, and no outside voice has the authority to define who you are. Only God, the one who created you and reconciled you through the blood of His Son, has that authority. His word over your life will not return void.
An Invitation to Reflect
In your time with the Lord this week, here are a few questions you can meditate on:
- The sermon teaches that faith is confident trust in God based on who He is, what He has said, what He has done, and what He has promised — which of these four pillars of faith do you find most difficult to hold onto during seasons of waiting or suffering, and why? What steps can you take this weak to strengthen this pillar?
- The pastor described perseverance not as simply hanging on, but as a decision to remain faithful when circumstances create pressure to quit — what is the difference between passively enduring a trial and actively persevering through it with steadfast faith?
- The pastor declared that God's word spoken over your life will not return void and trumps every negative word spoken by others or by yourself — how deeply do you believe this, and what would change in your daily life if you fully embraced it?

Weekly Events
We will NOT be meeting for prayer tonight, but do not let that stop you! In your own time and more times through out the week, there are plenty of opportunities to pray. Take your post saints!

As we move through this week, we encourage you to meditate on God's word, to speak life over your situation, and to stand firm in the faith that He has placed within you. Remember the words shared in our time of worship: even when you cannot see it, and even when you cannot feel it, He never stops working.
